Aasma was seriously injured and rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She had come home to meet her family in Kohat during session break.
The victim's brother says that Mujahidullah wanted to marry his sister but the family refused as he was already married. The suspect's family asserted that he has escaped to Dubai however; police have yet not confirmed the statement. Raids are being carried out to arrest the culprit.
Aasma's family alleges that the accused had issued threats in the past as well.
The father of Aasma has appealed for justice from high authorities. The accused - nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf District President Aftab Alam - along with his brother, Sadiqullah Afreedi, was waiting outside the girl's residence at the day of the incident. He shot her thrice after she stepped out of a rickshaw with her sister-in-law.
The girl succumbed to her wounds on Sunday evening after she was rushed to the hospital soon after the incident occurred. The funeral prayer of Aasma's Rani was offered in Saray-e-Noorang area of district Lakki Marwat on Monday.
